There is really nothing wrong with the Lexus GS. Also Pedro Almodovar's " The Skin I Live in" might be the only movie I stopped watching and don't feel like ending.

I really like that generation of the GS. Dat ass on 'em.

The only problem with that generation was a dull interior trimmed with some of the fakest looking bright red "wood" I've ever seen. Other than that, it's nice but boring.

That car has the 4 most important things I look for in a sedan: long hood, long car, short boot, wheels close to the front.

Dat ricecake ass?

You want THIS GS booty.

Japanese carmakers love that bright red "wood". The ES is boring, I consider the GS to be subtle.

It's certainly less boring than an ES, but it doesn't excite me as much as the one before it did, an nowhere near as much as the one after it.

The new ones are way better to drive and the interiors are orders of magnitude nicer.

I have delivered a couple gorgeous ones, one navy with a saddle brown leather interior. The other grey and saddle. With the F-Sport goodies it would be a great highway cruiser that can handle the B roads if you prefer to avoid traffic.

I will concede the new styling isn't to everyone's taste. I'm okay with that as that generation GS and ES are bloated lumps or car and why Lexus got the reputation it deserved.

They are making big steps to shed that image.

It needs a better engine selection. It needs something force inducted. The NA V6 just doesn't cut it today's market.

The awd version of this GS has a stupid lump sticking out of the driver's side of the transmission tunnel. I test drove one and kept brushing my leg on that lump. It was annoying. Screw that.

Yeah, when I was about ten I had this weird thing for this generation of GS...I was sooo happy when I got this Matchbox casting of it in Dark Navy Tealish Blue...

My GS300 was more exciting than it should have been.

Had a 95 GS300. Loved driving that car. Best highway cruiser I've ever owned.

These were nice. The issue I'm having with them is that they're sorta like the 7-Series of that class. They depreciate that much quicker and worse than the others, so they're quickly scooped up by people with no reason to own something like that, who then throw on a set of chrome wheels, window tint, chrome accents, and a cheesy wood trim kit.

That makes me furious, I quite like these (this generation is quite rare here).

The interior on the new ones is a massive improvement, and they do look nice. But this generation looks so subtle.

Needs a V12.

Save that for the LS. A nice V8 would suffice, at least a turbo V6. If Hyundai has you one upped on that front, you done fucked up.

My experience has been most Lexi depreciate slowly. Maybe I'm not following it as closely as you, but I always see the GS for sale for way more than I would expect. I would by one if I could afford it.

Here's a couple pictures. You can see how the floor mat is contoured around the big lump in the transmission tunnel.

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

My Jeep Grand Cherokee has a similarly-shaped driver-side floor mat, but the lump on the side of the transmission tunnel doesn't brush against my leg like the one in the awd GS.
